The city of Tulsa is situated on the Arkansas River in the Northeastern part of the state, about an hour and a half from Oklahoma City. The city is considered the cultural and arts center of the state, with a large concentration of art-deco architecture. It is also the home to a full-time professional opera, ballet company, and two world-renowned art museums.

Career Training Programs at our Tulsa, OK Campus

At our Tulsa vocational school, you can learn the skills you need to make a difference in the lives of others. You can choose a program in Healthcare and Wellness, giving you the opportunity to embark on a career in the healthcare industry, or you can learn the skills you need to become a chef which will let you brighten people’s lives with your culinary skills.

Healthcare and Wellness

  • Dental Assistingbecome the dentist’s second pair of hands by learning the skills needed to become a qualified and experienced dental assistant. You can learn both clinical and administrative skills that are valued in a dental office such as cleaning tools; assisting the dentist during exams; taking x-rays, and keeping patient records up-to-date. This program includes an externship in a dental office.
  • Medical Assisting – as a crucial member of the healthcare team, you can embark on an exciting career when you train to become a Medical Assistant. You can learn how to manage medical records, take the patient’s vitals, draw blood, and prepare your patients to see the doctor. This program includes an externship in a medical office.
  • Pharmacy Technicianlearn the science behind preparing medications for customers when you enroll in Pharmacy Technician classes at Platt College. You can learn how to: handle, store and distribute medication in a safe and efficient manner; prepare I.V. admixture products using aseptic compounding; maintain pharmacy records, and properly use medical and pharmaceutical terminology. This program includes an externship in a local pharmacy.
  • Massage Therapy – if you enjoy helping people and using your hands, this program can give you the skills you need to become a Massage Therapist. You can learn how to use touch to manipulate the soft-tissue of the body, helping people find relief from pain, discomfort, stress, improve circulation, and increase relaxation. A massage therapist uses their hands, fingers, elbows, and sometimes feet to massage their patient. The use of lotions, oils, heat lamps and other technology is often included in the massage session to help ease muscles and help with relaxation. This program includes an externship.

Culinary

  • Culinary Artsstudents who enjoy cooking and creating culinary works of art can learn the skills they need to enter the foodservice industry. Under the guidance of our professional chefs, you can: learn how to blend new and traditional preparation techniques to create dishes; discover cooking methods to create a variety of international cuisine; and receive training in preparation, cooking and menu management. This program includes an externship at local restaurants.

Skilled Trades

  • Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration – as a student in the Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration program you will learn the skills needed to install, maintain and repair a variety of heating and cooling systems, as well as  the theory of cooling and heating that supports the equipment’s operations and the basics of customer service.
